Is this music any good?
Yes, Ass-End Offend are in a couple words: a sound colossus. They play high speed, dense, disturbing, beautiful music like few others. We think it's some of the most exciting stuff going on in country, and are sure that Europe will get a kick out of it. The other bands playing this event write 97% of their own material, have totally varied and unique 'sounds', and good social consciences too. Not all of this is probably for everybody, but we think you'll at least like the spirit of each band. These bands tour, record, practice and play frequently. Yes, they're very good.
What's a Rock Lotto?
The Punk Rock Prom: Rock Lotto is specially designed to draw attention to the musical diversity within Missoula's independent music community. Each of 6 bands (Volumen, Oblio Joes, Ass-End Offend, Sasshole, The International Playboys and Bacon and Egg) has drawn the name of another band out of a hat, and will surprise us with two cover songs of another Missoula band.
What's the history of the Punk Rock Prom?
The Punk Rock Prom was begun in 2002 to raise funds for a woman with a terminal illness. It raised over $2000 then, and we're carrying on the tradition.
What kinds of events other than live music will the event feature?
There will be a photo-area, a raffle, contests, food and lots of freaks interpreting what the words Euro Trash mean with colorful get-ups.
What is the deal with the Euro Trash theme?
Exactly! Well, because this is a benefit for a band that is going to Europe, we sort of wanted to have some fun thinking about what the dudes from Kraftwerk might have worn to their prom, had they had a prom... Yeah, that's the extent to which that idea's been developed. Interpret!
